ATM got their wish as the venue for their clash with
Kelantan for in the semifinal first leg of the 2013 Malaysia Cup has
been switched back to the Selayang Stadium.
The chairman of the Local Competition Committee of the Football
Association of Malaysia (FAM), Datuk Afandi Hamzah stated that the
switch was due to the appeal made by the President of ATM Football
Assocation, General Tan Sri Zulkiefli Mohd Zin.Speaking at the press conference, Afandi said: "We agreed to the appeal made by ATM because they are the home team and we will inform Kelantan regarding this decision.
"After the discussion, ATM has promised their commitment to ensure the smoothness of the game as well as increase the security at the stadium," he added.
Last Monday, General-secretary of FAM, Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin was reported saying that the venue for the game has been changed to Shah Alam Stadium as requested by ATM as they took into condsideration the audience numbers as well as their safety.
MPS stadium can hold up to 16,000 thousand people while Shah Alam can have 80,000 people at once.
The match will kick off at 8.45pm this Friday.
